- Read the blogs of other students in the class. Comment on at least 3 of them.
[Anywhere] Reading (ETC: 1 hour):
- Read: Brandon Paulson, MARQS: Retrieving Sketches Using Domain- and Style-Independent Features Learned From a Single Example Using a Dual-Classifier(ETC: 40 minutes)
- Blog 5: Write Summary and Discussion for Reading (ETC: 20 minutes). Please note,
that while this paper has been accepted the final version has not been submitted
- so any feedback/corrections would be greatly appreciated.
Coding [ETC 2 hours]:
- Implement your own improvements for the class math data. Try to get the highest recognition rates
possible with the training data provided.
- Write up a short paper describing your improvements. The paper should follow the paper writing
criteria listed on the course home page. The paper should include images of successful and unsuccessful
shapes including why certain types of shapes are recognized and not recognized.
- Additional test data will be provided on Monday - deliberately delayed to prevent you
from using them to train your system - for you to measure your results against.
These should results should be noted in your paper.
